When established, the SEQ Water Distribution Entity will be one of the top 50 companies in Australia with $10 billion in assets and $1 billion in revenue.

A key task will be to build on, and migrate from, the existing Council water management systems. The intent is to move to a next-generation Greenfield platform that will enable a regional approach to water and wastewater service delivery to 1 in 7 Australians. This is a key aspect of the water reform agenda of South East Queensland, and the migration will require a number of new enterprise systems to be implemented and integrated, including geo-spatial information systems, customer relationship management, ERP, finance and asset management systems through to pipeline and network systems such as SCADA, Telemetry, smart meters, etc.
