The Department of Health & Ageing (DoHA) - Ageing and Aged Care Division (AACD) had developed a data repository to store data for the Aged and Community Care Programs to support management reporting and analytical requirements. This data repository had been developed in ad hoc manner to meet the short term needs of the AACD. As a consequence, there is still a large amount of manual data manipulation required to meet reporting objectives.
Hence a staged implementation approach was recommended where each phase delivers a discrete business outcome in line with the long term redevelopment strategy. Given the ageing population in Australia today; there is an immediate need to provide the AACD with a holistic view of its management information and provide a platform that will serve the AACD into the future through the implementation of a robust end to end architecture & providing the AACD with a holistic data warehouse capability.
The ability to utilise management/operational reporting, cube analytics and geo-spatial analysis information significantly improves the AACD's capability to provide both sustainable and optimal care across all Aged Care Programs to members of the Aged Care Community.
